So we are going to use a midwife. The birth will be at the hospital because Jane is not cool with doing it at our apartment and since these midwives don't do house calls. It will be in a section of the hospital for midwife births which is cool and if any medical attention should be needed, Jane will already be there for help. I hope that that makes any of you who are sweating over the fact that we are not going the "medical" way relax a bit. Human babies have been born for hundreds of thousands of years and will continue with or without medical intervention.
Enough about that.
Jane got all checked out at and guess what, she is in fact pregnant! She was worried there for a bit because she hasn't had the infamous morning sickness and thought that she was missing out! We even got to hear the heartbeat and it was alive and kicking. It was one of those moments that made me really say that this was for real and that we are really going to have a baby! On a side note, the doctor that heard the heart beat for us is a rock climber, so he has good hands! Just thought that you should know that.
Since we didn't really know when we conceived, we were estimating that we were at 8 weeks, but after the doctor measured the speck (you literally couldn't see anything) on the computer screen, he told us that 6 weeks was more like it. So for those of you reading from Ohio that said that we conceived at my parents house, you may be correct! They don't call it a resort for nothing. Ha, who would have thought?
Life is going on normally for us both. We eat, we sleep, (Jane sleeps a bit more these days), we run, we climb, (Jane goes less often) and we spend hours standing in front of the microwave just letting it heat things up. JUST KIDDING!!
It's too early to begin worrying about too much, so we don't. Jane is however, taking her vitamins, eating a well balanced diet and exercising. We will continue to read and learn about the process and go see the midwife when we need to and that will be that.
So for now it's go to work, the gym and then make some good old fashioned home cooked meals together. It has been really cold as of late, so we sit under the blankets, watch movies and read.
Life is good and I hope yours is too!
love you all,
piz : )
